Royal Family Kids Camp 2024
2024 Royal Family Kids Camp | Gossett Family Ministry Update
Hi friends and family! It’s that time of year again when Bradley and I volunteer at Royal Family Kids Camp! This camp is unlike any other, and what makes it unique is it’s a camp for Wake County foster children. The kids spend a fantastic week playing games, learning about God’s love, and experiencing safe relationships with adults who actually care about them. All of these children have come from a traumatic background of some kind, and when they get off the bus, they are typically quiet and nervous. But by the end of the week—after the care and love of the staff and counselors—the kids come out of their shells and feel what it’s like to be kids and have fun. You can watch the short video recap from last year’s camp here.
This camp is free for the child to attend because our church sponsors it. Cross Assembly Church has also committed to making sure it happens every year, so the camp doesn’t rely on volunteers raising funds. However, it’s not cheap to put on this type of event, and we don’t want to take the sponsorship for granted. Due to individual generosity from the past several years, Royal Family Kids camp is able to expand to two weeks of camp this year, nearly doubling the number of kids to be impacted. If you believe in us and this mission and can contribute the camp’s fund, please give through the link below. I don’t write to be dramatic or tug on heartstrings, so I’m serious when I say that a week at this camp has changed the trajectory of kid’s lives from right here in Wake County, and we hope to continue to be able to do so. Thanks everyone for taking the time to read this email :)
P.S. If you have a moment, please read last year’s update here. We wrote this just a few days after returning from camp in 2023 to keep the memory fresh.
